Dan and I watched Mystic River on DVD the other night, which of course got my Mama-brain churning about child abduction. Statistically unlikely (like adults, children are much more likely to be harmed by someone they trust), but still, it occurred to me that it had been a long while since I discussed safety with strangers with Francis.
"Francis, what would you do if a strange man told you to get in his car?"
My look of serious of intent gave Francis pause, and he laid his hand on my arm, and empathically, said, "Buckle-up".
Ah, yes, I guess we have some work to do here.
